Why upgrade to wordpress 2.8.6
Well friends we have moved to the latest version 2.8.6 of wordpress and strongly recommend fellow bloggers to do so. Its a critical security issue, and as far we know this could be exploited easily on multi author blogs.
This is what wordpress has to say about these new security release 2.8.6
2.8.6 fixes two security problems that can be exploited by registered, logged in users who have posting privileges.
The first problem is an XSS vulnerability in Press This discovered by Benjamin Flesch. The second problem, discovered by Dawid Golunski, is an issue with sanitizing uploaded file names that can be exploited in certain Apache configurations.
So, get it upgraded and stay safe. Download
whatever these guys say, worpdress 2.8 was a disaster….. nowadays, imn a bit more careful and like to do my research before upgrading wordpress

Well, wordpress 2.8 is a great release. The online issue that arises after a new release is with the akismet plugin that is unable to distinguish the spams and regular comments.
I upgraded to it thanks alot for sharing the news.
This was a upgrade that i was waiting since the release of 2.8.5.
