Vedic Mathematics Multiplication Trick
Mathematics is a subject which is used in your daily life. It does not matter whether you are a student or not, you have to make calculations. Therefore it becomes impertinent to make fast calculations. I will tell you here about some of the shortcuts which are used in multiplication. These shortcuts will save your time and it will make students task easier in those exams where calculators are not allowed. This formula is also useful for those people who give aptitude test. There is a fundamental formula of multiplication which is given below:
(Ax2 + Bx +C) x (Px2 + Qx + R) = (Apx4 + (AQ+BP) x3 + (AR + BQ + CP) x2 + (BR + CQ) x + CR)
On putting x=10 in the given formula we can easily multiply 2 or 3 digits numbers
Let us take two 3 digit numbers 532 and 653 just to show you how multiplication is done with this method.
First of all multiply last digits of the numbers.
5 3 2
6 5 3
___________
6
Now multiply BR+CQ to get the tens digits.
5 3 2
6 5 3
___________
9 6
1
(3×3=9; 2×5=10; 10+9=19)
(Now 1 is carried over)
Now apply operation AR + BQ + CP to get hundereds digits
5 3 2
6 5 3
___________
2 9 6
4 1
Now apply operation AQ + BP to get the 10 to the power 3 place.
5 3 2
6 5 3
___________
3 2 9 6
4 4 1
Now multiply 100’s digits of each (5×6).
5 3 2
6 5 3
___________
0 3 2 9 6
3 4 4 1
After adding the product you will get the result.
5 3 2
6 5 3
___________
0 3 2 9 6
3 4 4 1
___________
3 4 7 3 9 6
Try this method it will surely help you. This method can be used for four digit numbers also but the steps increases.
This method will save your times and after few days practice you can will able to multiply numbers in just few seconds.
